Tirefall

When hiking, I often pause to rest at scenic locations.  One of my favorite spots is along the edge of a creek with a gurgling waterfall.

Large boulders, worn smooth by the power of the water, make superb seats. Nearby rocks redirect the river’s current, holding steadfast as the waters rush over them like cascades of crystal. These moments are restorative beyond my words. This is also where the best conversations happen with my hiking buddies. I often find that witnessing the persistence of nature helps us to transcend our anxieties and menial agendas.

These tired tractor tires, laced with paracord to resemble the flowing and pooling water, have been repurposed as a portable version of my creek.  Here, friends can relax, strangers can meet, and individuals can meditate.
